This three ingredient hair mask has got to be one of my favorite DIY at home treatments. I know there are many great products I can probably use, but once a week I like to treat my hair to a fresh just made treatment. There's a thing or two you should know about my hair before we get into the mask. First of all I don't color my hair, this is my natural hair color; therefore I only visit the salon a few times a year for hair trims.
My hair is super long, and there's been couple of times I've been so tempted to cut it short but I've never had the courage to do it. I think you've heard enough about my Hair, so keep on reading to learn how to prepare my three ingredient hair mask (P.S. you might have all these ingredients in your kitchen already).
This mask is really simple and you only need three ingredients.
1 tbsp. Coconut Oil
1 tbsp. Olive Oil
1 tbsp. Castor Oil
What to do:
Place coconut oil in a glass bowl and warm it up for 30 seconds ( no more than 30 seconds) in the microwave, this will melt the coconut oil. Please be careful when removing the glass bowl from the microwave as it can get hot. Once you have removed the glass bowl from the microwave you can start incorporating the Olive Oil and the Castor Oil one by one, stir and let it cool.
Once the mixture has cooled you want to start at the ends and work your way up to the scalp.
I like to give myself a scalp massage for a couple minutes as these oils nourish and hydrate the scalp. Please make sure to brush your hair before applying the mask as this makes it easy for a smooth application. This hair mask can be modified, you can opt to add less or more oil; it all depends on your hair length. I opt to do 1 tbsp. of the oils mentioned above because my hair is super long. This mask can be applied once a week or up to 2-3 times per month.
Once I'm done applying the hair mask, I just put it up in a bun. I usually leave it on from thirty minutes to one hour or more if I have the time; if you don't have this much time you can leave it on for fifteen minutes.
